01
More than an imaging finding
Diagnosis combines the injury history, stability examination and imaging. Associated meniscus, cartilage or additional ligament injuries also matter.
02
Rehabilitation or reconstruction
Treatment is individual. Instability, sporting goals, daily activities and associated injuries help determine whether surgery is likely to be beneficial.
03
Returning to sport
Rehabilitation and follow-up are part of treatment. Clearance depends on clinical recovery and functional criteria, including strength and movement control, as well as time since surgery.
